Ophir Wall Climbing Routes
Experience
The Ophir Wall, near Telluride. This route offers multi-pitch climbs ranging in difficulty from 5.6 to 5.10 pitches. Also available are Friction slabs, with fixed protection. This is located down the left shoulder of the wall. Post Office Crack, a classic 4 or 5 pitch, 5.7 - 5.8 climb, is located in the middle of the wall beginning with a difficult chimney. The wall also offers a number of aid climbs.
The East Buttress
The East Buttress is located adjacent to the Ophir Wall. It offers 1 and 2 pitch climbs. The difficulty ranges from 5.3 to 5.10. From the Buttress you can also explore the Ophir Wall and Cracked Canyon.
Aemes Wall
Ames Wall is located directly behind the town of Ames. The wall offers 2 and 4 pitches. There are several difficulty levels starting at 5.6. Due to rock composition, the climbing on Ames Wall is challenging.
A lot of visitors and locals alike explore the cliff at Telluride. This is a cliff band that lends itself to beginners through to advanced climbers. The band is accessible by Aspen Street..
